Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. Professional experience is not required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn diesel maintenance and repair skills, parts lookup and acquisition, and how to assist with roadside services. The role requires working a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed, working in close quarters and various temperatures, and being able to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.
Requirements
- Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brake diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while complying with company safety policies and procedures.
- Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
