Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Love’s is hiring a Diesel Technician Apprentice to work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain a clean, welcoming place for customers. The apprentice interacts with customers and drivers and learns diesel maintenance and repair skills; professional experience is not required, as training is provided. The apprentice program covers electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel end, air system, air brake, and charging system diagnostics and repairs; basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement; and parts lookup and acquisition. The role also includes assisting with roadside services and learning preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- Ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card.
- No professional experience is required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel end, air system, air brake, and charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while following company safety policies and procedures.
- Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
- Obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.
