Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Love’s Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. The role is intended for people who are mechanically inclined but may not have professional experience; training is provided. Apprentices learn diesel diagnostics and repairs, parts lookup and acquisition, and preventative maintenance. They may assist customers with roadside services and must put customer safety and satisfaction first while following company safety policies and procedures. The schedule rotates between day and night as needed. The role requires the ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds, work in close quarters and in various temperatures, and obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, which Love’s pays for.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brakes diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
