About The Position

The Diabetes Educator identifies patient needs and priorities for education used on assessment. Patient population includes those from small children to the elderly. The educator plans, implements and evaluates all programs and services administered by the Diabetes Control Center. The educator coordinates the educational care between other professional disciplines as needed.

Requirements

  • Dietetic registration and licensure or nursing licensure within provisional period.
  • Working toward CDCES certification in diabetes education within provisional period.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator within 2 years of hire.
  • Effective verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to communicate with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years experience in the field of diabetes care and education.
