About The Position

SRI Resources is seeking a Desktop Technician II for an immediate, temporary contract assignment with a major corporation in New York City. The role is on-site and is expected to last more than two months, with the temporary technician needed through the end of the year. The technician will maintain PCs, notebooks, printers, and other computer peripherals; relocate and install equipment and standard software at company locations; and install and configure end-user applications. The position also involves observing security and safety requirements, including verifying software is virus-free before installation, installing LAN client software and hardware as appropriate, and updating hardware and software asset records after equipment is installed or relocated.

Requirements

Diploma in Computer Engineering or a related field.
Preferably two years of experience supporting and maintaining PCs and printers.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Pleasant personality and positive attitude.
Effective end-user communication, analytical skills, and a customer-oriented approach.
Proficiency supporting Windows 7 and Windows 8 client environments.
Working knowledge of Outlook.
Proficiency with Windows-based applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge of troubleshooting network connections and basic TCP/IP concepts.
Basic knowledge of supporting iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Symantec Antivirus and the Attachmate Extra program.

Responsibilities

Maintain PCs, notebooks, printers, and other PC peripherals.
Relocate and install PCs, printers, and other peripherals, including standard software, at company locations.
Install and configure end-user software, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
Follow security and safety regulations, particularly virus-protection requirements, and ensure software is virus-free before installation.
Install LAN client software and hardware as appropriate.
Update hardware and software asset data after PC equipment is installed or relocated.
