About the position
The job overview for this position is that Foursquare is seeking a Design Systems Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a strong design aesthetic, well-established processes, and excellent leadership skills. They will be responsible for improving the Design System, maintaining a high-quality component library and style guide, and providing documentation and guidance for implementation across applications. The Design Systems Designer will also collaborate with Product Designers and Engineering, stay updated on industry trends, and ensure that the Design System is accessible and inclusive.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Designers and Engineering to collect and provide feedback on component creation
- Understand the competitive landscape and the latest trends
- Create interactive prototypes for use-case scenario demonstrations
- Review existing inventory and audit current/past research
- Identify opportunities to create new patterns and components
- Provide guidelines and documentation that resonate with the teams using our Design Systems
- Attend meetings to articulate design decisions with our cross-collaborative partners
- Manage and own the style guide in Zeroheight and Design System in Figma
- Ensure that our Design System is accessible and inclusive
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Product Design or UX
- Mobile and web experience, with portfolio or work samples
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or relevant experience in a full-cycle product design environment
- Ability to collaborate with Product Designers and Engineering to collect and provide feedback on component creation
