Senior Software Engineer - Node Back End

Foursquare is seeking a Senior Engineer to join their Studio Backend team and play a crucial role in developing advanced analytics services for their Studio cloud offerings. The ideal candidate will have experience in building scalable solutions using modern JavaScript development tools and will be responsible for designing and implementing code, conducting code reviews, and ensuring the quality and performance of the services. They will also collaborate with multiple teams, understand customer needs, and translate them into backend engineering projects. • Design and build scalable, performant, and maintainable services for the Foursquare Studio Cloud
• Analyze complex customer requirements, research solutions, and implement the required code
• Maintain and improve existing code, following backend engineering best practices
• Write test automation, conduct code reviews, and take ownership of deployments to production
• Manage project timelines, documentation, testing, and ongoing system support
• Collaborate with multiple teams, identify technical stakeholders, and drive consensus
• Work with product and sales teams to understand customer needs and translate them into backend engineering projects

• B.Sc. in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in building scalable solutions based on modern JavaScript development tooling
• At ease with technology, able to quickly pick up new platforms and troubleshoot
• Sound judgment, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proactive, able to take initiative and work independently
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
