Data Support Associate

We are seeking an independent and efficient individual to join our Data Support team at Foursquare. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high-quality data of our Places database and supporting our Attribution product. The role involves curating and vetting popular venues, analyzing and QA data feedback, researching specific chains and brands, improving the match rate of our POI data, and annotating sample datasets. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience with online research, mapping platforms, Excel, SQL, and programming languages are required. • Curate and vet popular venues in the database to ensure personalized recommendations for users
• Use internal tooling to add/remove/edit various attributes in the Places dataset
• Analyze and QA data feedback
• Research specific chains and brands to validate venue-level firmographic data accuracy
• Improve the match rate of POI data with outside data sources
• Annotate sample datasets to understand the severity of issues and the quality of new potential datasets
• Have a strong work ethic and acute attention to detail
• Possess efficient and effective online research skills
• Familiarity with online mapping platforms
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and report bugs
• Experience with Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience with SQL and a programming language
