About The Position

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Clinical Dentist to support its Dental Hygiene Program at the San Antonio campus. The Dentist provides dental oversight and patient care while collaborating with students, instructors, and clinical staff, and helps prepare future dental hygiene professionals. Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
• Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Texas.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications and dental management software.

Nice To Haves

• At least three years of active clinical practice is preferred.
• Prior experience in a clinical teaching, supervisory, or preceptor role is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental services in the dental hygiene clinic.
• Supervise clinical care during medical emergencies.
• Prescribe and oversee radiographic and diagnostic services in accordance with Texas State Board regulations.
• Supervise, evaluate, and mentor student dental hygienists and dental assistant externs during live clinical practice.
• Deliver classroom lectures or laboratory instruction as assigned by the Program Director.
• Support day-to-day clinic workflows.
• Participate in faculty clinical meetings.
• Attend in-service educational training sessions.
