About The Position

The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients and supplies, prepares products, takes and processes telephone orders, completes inventory and related paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. The role delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position involves working in varying temperatures and weather conditions, handling food and supplies, and performing frequent standing, reaching, walking, and bending. Delivery work may involve carrying products and navigating stairs, multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites. Bulk deliveries may require unloading cases weighing up to 50 pounds and placing them on shelves as high as 72 inches.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
• Ability to comprehend and provide correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and use a calculator if needed.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination and hand/finger dexterity to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, work independently and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to handle physical tasks that may include standing, walking, carrying, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment.
• Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock supplies.
• Carry products during deliveries and navigate delivery sites, including stairs when required.
