About The Position

As a Delivery Dispatcher, you will coordinate and manage events that can affect delivery drivers’ workdays, balancing driver safety with customer requirements. Success in the role involves supporting delivery drivers and collaborating directly with internal and external customers. The role works in an onsite, collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail.

• 3–5 years of experience in dispatch or a related field; preferably in a contact center or transportation environment.
• Team player able to accept shared responsibility.

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency customer calls, record significant information, and create work orders; dispatch calls according to priority.
• Partner with Load Builders and maintain communication with customers and field representatives while scheduled work is carried out.
• Execute the schedule created by the Load Builder, maintaining ongoing communication between the two roles.
• Apply company policies and procedures appropriately, determining when a process is critical.
• Understand sales processes to ensure customers are billed appropriately.
• Provide status updates and pertinent information to Operations Managers and other internal parties.
• Recommend and implement ways to optimize performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Determine who should assist when needed, such as for two-person jobs.
• Maintain call center metrics, including average handle time, after-call work, and returned calls.
• Guide CSRs and Sales Representatives on building and gas codes, technician schedules, and whether the company can fulfill particular customer requests.
