About The Position

The Fresh Market is hiring seasonal team members to support its stores during key business periods. Team members may work in Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, or Produce, and may provide counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood. This is a temporary role, and employment may end when the seasonal business period concludes; seasonal team members are not considered regular, permanent team members.

The role focuses on providing guests with a warm, welcoming shopping experience and exceptional personal service. Duties include helping guests find meal solutions, maintaining product knowledge, supporting food sampling, stocking and merchandising products, handling transactions, assisting with store upkeep, and preparing deli items. Team members must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, days, evenings, and holidays. The position involves physical activity, use of specified tools and equipment, and compliance with uniform and protective-equipment requirements.

Requirements

• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 16 years of age; at least 18 years of age for work in Deli, Bakery, or Produce.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to spend extended periods on one’s feet and stand or walk without a break for up to four hours or as required by law.
• Wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment, unless under age 18.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service by engaging with guests to understand their wants and needs and help create meal solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and weekly ad items throughout the store and work across departments to assist guests.
• Safely handle food products for guest sampling.
• Create a hospitable shopping experience by merchandising and stocking products and specialty items throughout the day, while assisting nearby guests.
• Weigh and scan products, handle cash, and provide change where appropriate.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and assist with general housekeeping throughout the store.
• Slice and prepare a variety of department meats, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels.
• Present oneself professionally, including adhering to uniform standards.
