About The Position

The Fresh Market is hiring seasonal team members to support its stores during key business periods. Team members may work in Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, or Produce, and may provide counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood. This is a temporary role, not a regular permanent position, and employment may conclude at the end of the seasonal business period. The pay range is $19.17–$20.45 per hour.

The role focuses on providing personal guest service and supporting store operations. Duties include helping guests find meal solutions, maintaining product and weekly-ad knowledge, safely handling food samples, merchandising and stocking products, operating scales and scanners, handling cash, collecting shopping carts, housekeeping, and preparing and slicing deli meats and cheeses and convenient meal solutions. Team members are expected to maintain product quality and levels, follow uniform standards, and work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 16 years of age, or at least 18 years of age for Deli, Bakery, or Produce roles.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, reach, and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment, unless under age 18.
• Ability to spend long periods on their feet and stand or walk without a break for up to four hours or as required by law.
• Wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service by learning guests’ wants and needs and helping them create meal solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and weekly ad items throughout the store and assist guests across departments.
• Safely handle food products for guest sampling.
• Merchandise and stock products and specialty items throughout the day while assisting nearby guests.
• Weigh and scan products, handle cash, and provide change where appropriate.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and perform general housekeeping duties throughout the store.
• Slice and prepare department meats, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels.
• Present professionally and adhere to uniform standards.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
