About The Position

The Fresh Market is hiring seasonal team members to support stores during key business periods. Team members may work in Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, or Produce, and provide counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood. This is a temporary role, not a regular permanent position, and employment may conclude at the end of the seasonal business period. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Team members provide personal guest service, help guests find products and meal solutions, maintain product knowledge, handle food safely, and keep merchandise stocked and presented. Deli-related duties include slicing and preparing meats, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining product quality. The role also includes checkout and cash-handling tasks, gathering shopping carts, housekeeping, and maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with uniform standards.

The work involves repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. Team members may be exposed to extreme temperatures, spend extended periods standing or walking, and use tools and equipment such as knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, and pallet jacks. Approved head coverings and personal protective equipment are required. Requirements

• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 16 years of age, or at least 18 years of age for Deli, Bakery, or Produce roles.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to spend long periods on one's feet and stand or walk without a break for up to four hours or as required by law.
• Ability to use applicable tools and equipment, including knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, and pallet jacks; some equipment use is restricted for those under 18.
• Ability to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, personal guest service by engaging with guests to understand their wants and needs and help them create meal solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and weekly ad items throughout the store, and work across departments to assist guests.
• Safely handle food products for guest sampling.
• Merchandise and stock products and specialty items throughout the day while assisting nearby guests.
• Weigh and scan products properly, handle cash, and provide change where appropriate.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and assist with general housekeeping throughout the store.
• Slice and prepare department meats, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels.
• Present oneself professionally and adhere to uniform standards.
