About The Position

The Deli Manager is responsible for the effective overall operation of the Deli Department to achieve established sales and profit goals. The role involves providing helpful customer service, managing and training staff, overseeing inventory and merchandising, and ensuring products and the department meet quality, safety, and health-code standards. The position is at Ingles Markets Store 740 in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Requirements

Exceptional customer service skills.
Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, especially during high-volume or stressful periods.
Must be able to read and do simple math problems.
Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience.
Previous deli experience.
SERV Safe Certification.

Responsibilities

Greet customers within 10 feet and respond promptly to questions.
Provide accurate product information and recommendations.
Create weekly schedules to ensure department coverage.
Train staff on store procedures and operational standards.
Manage inventory for freshness, quality, and appropriate stock levels while minimizing waste.
Ensure correct pricing based on margin guidelines and department goals.
Record price changes, in-store usage, voids, refunds, and spoilage according to policy.
Develop merchandising plans with the Store Manager and set department goals.
Stock and rotate products according to approved procedures for quality and compliance.
Monitor product temperatures and adhere to health codes.
Maintain clean, well-stocked, visually appealing displays.
Communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
Monitor the area for hazards and maintain a safe environment.
Adhere to scheduled hours and store rules.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
