About The Position

The County Market Deli Cook provides excellent customer service, prepares food according to recipes, develops product knowledge, and works safely. The role includes producing hot-case foods, monitoring food quality and stock levels, and maintaining the work area and cooler according to food safety standards. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties may vary by store location, and management may change position requirements.

• High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, weights, and measures.
• Food Handlers Certificate, provided at store level.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described in the posting, including standing, walking, handling and reaching, and lifting items of varying weights.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Follow recipes and read charts and spreadsheets.
• Monitor food quality and taste.
• Meet deadlines and follow the production list.
• Produce hot-case foods and monitor hot-case stock levels.
• Maintain the work area and cooler according to approved food safety standards.
• Follow store and department policies, procedures, and Health Code guidelines.
• Promote and support established programs.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
