About The Position

The Deli / Salad Bar Cook is responsible for producing salads and sandwiches and cleaning up before, during, and after service. The cook prepares sandwiches, salads, and desserts for students and faculty, supports kitchen cleaning throughout and at the end of the shift, and may help put away orders. This hands-on, front- and back-of-house position serves as a first point of contact for students and faculty and requires speed, efficiency, accuracy, and excellent customer service. The role is located in Wakefield, Massachusetts. The stated schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the position is full-time. Pay is $22.00–$24.00 per hour, paid weekly by direct deposit.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience in a similar deli position.
Dependable, neat, clean, and professional.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals, including made-to-order deli and salad items and catering orders as needed.
Chop and slice meats, cheese, and vegetables; cook and prepare sandwiches, salads, and grab-and-go items.
Prepare lunch and dinner stations according to company guidelines.
Stock stations with the items needed for service.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service.
Ensure customers are taken care of and the department remains clean and presentable.
Provide attentive, approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
Operate and sanitize equipment safely and properly.
Support culinary staff at other stations as directed.
Follow and promote company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniforms, and productivity.
Clean the kitchen and service areas before, during, and after service, including at the end of the shift.
May assist with putting away orders.
