About The Position

The Deli Cook provides excellent customer service, prepares food according to recipes, develops product knowledge, and works safely. The role includes producing hot-case foods, monitoring their quality, taste, and stock levels, and keeping the work area and cooler compliant with food-safety standards. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position requirements may vary by store location, and Niemann Foods Management may add to or change requirements at any time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before customer or associate groups.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, weights, and measures.
• Food Handlers Certificate provided at store level.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Follow recipes and read charts and spreadsheets.
• Monitor food quality and taste.
• Meet deadlines and follow production lists.
• Produce hot-case foods and monitor hot-case stock levels.
• Maintain the work area and cooler according to approved food-safety standards.
• Follow store and department policies and procedures and Health Code guidelines.
• Promote and support established programs.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
