About The Position

The Deli Cook is responsible for production of salads and sandwiches, preparing sandwiches, salads, and desserts for students and faculty, and cleaning before, during, and after service. This hands-on, front- and back-of-house position serves as a first impression for students and faculty and requires accurate, efficient work and excellent customer service. The role also supports kitchen cleaning during and at the end of the shift and may assist with putting away orders. The position is based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The hourly pay rate is $22.00–$24.00, paid weekly by direct deposit.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience in a similar deli position.
Dependable, neat, clean, and professional.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals, including made-to-order deli and salad items and catering orders as needed.
Chop and slice meats, cheese, and vegetables; cook and prepare sandwiches, salads, and grab-and-go items.
Prepare lunch and dinner stations according to company guidelines and stock stations with items needed for service.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service.
Ensure customers are cared for and the department remains clean and presentable.
Provide attentive, approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
Assist with grab-and-go service and catering.
Operate and sanitize equipment safely and properly.
Support culinary staff at other stations as directed.
Follow and promote company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity.
Clean the kitchen and service areas before, during, and after service and at the end of the shift.
May assist with putting away orders.
