About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses. The role maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases, and assists Members with questions, product recommendations, selections, and special orders. The position also receives, inspects, stocks, rotates, and stores deli products according to food-safety, freshness, handling, and quality policies. Deli equipment and food-contact surfaces must be operated safely and cleaned and sanitized throughout the department. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide Members with a high level of customer service, answer questions, recommend deli items, answer calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; help Members select products; provide samples; and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments, then display, stock, rotate, and store products in accordance with food-safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date products and follow salvage procedures.
• Maintain a variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, and replenish and rotate items as needed.
• Operate deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are working and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support a safe, clean, organized deli environment.
• Work in other departments as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Support club standards through accurate signage, stocked items, promotional execution, and clean, organized spaces.
• Work collaboratively, act with honesty and integrity, maintain a friendly and positive attitude, and address or escalate Member concerns appropriately.
