About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses; maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases; and assists Members with product selections and orders. The role provides friendly, high-quality customer service while following club policies, food-safety practices, product-handling procedures, and equipment-safety requirements. Team members are expected to support a safe, inclusive, and positive environment, uphold daily GOLD Member and Club Standards, and work with commitment, pride, and regular, predictable attendance. Other duties may be assigned, including work in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service, answer Member questions, recommend deli items, answer Member calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; help Members select products, offer samples, and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products in accordance with food-safety, freshness, and product-handling policies.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date items and follow product salvage procedures.
• Maintain a wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, stocking and rotating items as needed.
• Operate and handle deli equipment safely and in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are in working order and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and uphold daily GOLD Member and Club Standards.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
