About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses. The role maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases, and assists Members with product selection, questions, and special orders. The clerk handles products in accordance with food-safety, freshness, quality, and product-handling procedures, and operates and cleans deli equipment safely. Team members are expected to support club policies, provide friendly service, maintain a safe and positive environment, collaborate respectfully, and contribute to daily club standards.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service, answer Member questions, recommend deli products, and respond to Member calls.
• Help Members select products and provide samples to assist with purchasing decisions.
• Take special orders and prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products according to food-safety, freshness, and product-handling policies.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date products and follow product salvage procedures.
• Keep deli cooler shelves and display cases stocked with a wide variety of products.
• Operate deli equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are working and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Contribute to GOLD Member and club standards, including friendly service, stocked items, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
