About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses; maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases; and assists Members. The role provides customer service, responds to questions and special orders, and helps Members select products. It also includes receiving and inspecting shipments, maintaining product freshness and food safety, operating deli equipment, and keeping equipment and food-preparation surfaces clean and sanitized. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service, answer Member questions, recommend deli items, respond to Member calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; help Members select products; offer samples; and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments, and display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date products and follow salvage procedures.
• Maintain a wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, and stock and rotate items as needed.
• Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are working and that items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment; follow club standards and deliver service excellence.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
