About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses, while maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases. The role assists Members with product selection, recommendations, questions, calls, and special orders, and supports a safe, fresh, clean, and well-stocked department. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service, answer questions, recommend deli items, answer Member calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; help Members select products; offer samples; and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date products and follow salvage procedures.
• Maintain a wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, restocking and rotating items as needed.
• Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems work properly and items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and contribute to daily GOLD Member and club standards.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
