About The Position

The Deli Clerk supports the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves customers time and money. The role requires reasonable knowledge of storing, preparing, and maintaining deli products and providing remarkable customer service. This is a part-time position at Store #576, with a listed salary of $16.00–$16.50.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to enter or work on the deli side of the department.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow federal, state, and local regulations and company policies for prepared-food operations, safety, and sanitation.
• Provide attentive, courteous customer service and answer questions about prepared-food products, including ready-made meals, packaged salads, and subs.
• Keep the work area clean to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Process, prepare, and package products according to company policy, recipes, and cooking instructions.
• Stock, clean, and rotate products, maintaining proper shelf, cooler, and display-case conditions.
• Follow store shrink guidelines and track discarded products.
• Ensure hot and cold cases are at proper temperatures and in working order, and maintain equipment.
• Complete necessary paperwork.
• Follow direction from the Deli Manager and perform assigned tasks.
