About The Position

The Part Time Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses. The role maintains deli presentation and cleanliness, including display cases, and assists Members with product selection, questions, calls, and special orders. The clerk also receives and inspects shipments, stocks and rotates products, prepares special orders and party trays, and follows food-safety, freshness, product-handling, quality, and equipment-safety procedures. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service; answer Member questions and calls, recommend deli items, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; help Members select products and provide samples to support purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Check products daily for freshness and expiration dates and follow product salvage policies and procedures.
• Maintain a wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases.
• Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems work properly and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Support a safe, positive, clean, and organized environment and contribute to daily club standards.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
