About The Position

The Bakery Clerk supports Tops’ mission of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves customers time and money. The role requires reasonable knowledge of storing, preparing, and maintaining bakery products. The clerk slices, prices, and packages products; maintains shelves, cases, and displays; and provides attentive, courteous customer service.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old; must be at least 18 to perform certain functions or tasks.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow federal, state, and local regulations and company policies relating to bakery operations, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain shelves and displays by cleaning, straightening, and rotating products.
• Process, prepare, and package products according to company policy.
• Accurately take customer orders for cakes and other specialty items as needed.
• Complete paperwork relating to the Bakery Department.
• Follow a clean-as-you-go policy.
• Maintain adequate supplies.
• Minimize shrink through proper product handling and storage.
• Minors may work in sales, packaging, and limited production.
