About The Position

Kj’s Market is hiring a part-time Deli/Bakery Clerk. The role involves preparing and maintaining products for sale, keeping work and sales areas clean and sanitary, assisting guests, and supporting receiving, storage, and front-end operations. The position requires frequent standing and the ability to bend and kneel, as well as lifting up to 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Requirements

Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
Prepare products for sale by frying, cutting, slicing, baking, weighing, and pricing them.
Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
Communicate guest requests to management.
Communicate temperature breakdowns to a supervisor.
Keep the supply area neat, clean, and tidy.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Perform front-end duties to ensure the “guests arrival” standard is maintained.
Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
Assist with product receiving and storage.
