About The Position

The Deli/Bakery Clerk prepares products for sale, maintains product quality and freshness, and keeps work and sales areas sanitary and organized. The role also includes providing friendly guest service, communicating guest requests and equipment temperature issues to management, assisting with receiving and storing products, and completing front-end duties as needed. This is a part-time position with flexible schedules.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare products for sale by frying, cutting, slicing, baking, weighing, and pricing.
• Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
• Communicate guests’ requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to a supervisor.
• Keep the supply area neat, clean, and tidy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform front-end duties to maintain the guest-arrival standard.
• Announce specials and sale information over the PA system.
• Assist with product receiving and storage.
