About The Position

The Deli/Bakery Clerk prepares products for sale, maintains product quality and freshness, and keeps work and sales areas sanitary and organized. The role provides friendly guest service, communicates guest requests and equipment temperature issues to management, and assists with receiving and storing products. It also includes front-end duties and announcing specials and sale information over the PA system.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
Prepare products for sale by frying, cutting, slicing, baking, weighing, and pricing.
Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
Communicate guest requests to management.
Communicate temperature breakdowns to a supervisor.
Keep the supply area neat, clean, and tidy.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Perform front-end duties to maintain the “guests arrival” standard.
Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
Assist with product receiving and storage.
