About The Position

This role works independently to prepare, fry, package, display, and stock deli and/or bakery products while contributing to the financial best interest of the store. The associate is responsible for meeting company guest experience guidelines and complying with safety and food safety requirements. Duties may also be assigned in other departments based on customer experience needs.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery and deli products according to the production planner.
• Package and label bakery and deli products according to the program plan.
• Merchandise bakery and deli products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock the backroom with bakery and deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
• Work with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
• Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
• Follow all personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
• Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
