About The Position

This role independently prepares food and deli and/or bakery products, including frying, packaging, displaying, and stocking products. The associate contributes to the financial best interest of the store while meeting company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety. The position is based at 905 E 8th Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684. The work takes place in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and possible exposure to outside weather conditions. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery and deli products according to the production planner.
• Package and label bakery and deli products according to the program plan.
• Merchandise bakery and deli products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock the backroom with bakery and deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
• Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
• Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
• Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines.
• Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
