About The Position

The Deli/Bakery Associate works independently to prepare food; fry, package, display, and stock deli and/or bakery products; and contribute to the store’s financial best interest. The role is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety. Associates may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The position is at 302 1st St E, Dickinson, North Dakota 58601. The work environment is a typical retail store with varied temperatures, possible exposure to outside weather conditions, and usually low to moderate noise. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery/deli products according to the production planner.
• Package and label bakery/deli products according to the program plan.
• Merchandise bakery/deli products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock the backroom with bakery/deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
• Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash Retail stores.
• Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
