About The Position

The Deli Attendant serves food, beverages, and desserts to guests at a take-out counter in a 24/7 café venue. The role includes preparing and cooking food items, delivering orders to the kitchen, and serving completed orders. The attendant provides friendly, quick, professional guest service; maintains attractive food displays; follows food-handling, safety, and sanitation standards; and informs the Supervisor when food quantities are low. The position also involves cleaning and sanitizing counters, tables, dishes, glasses, fountain equipment, and facilities, as well as processing payments with MICROS POS and balancing cash receipts.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills.
• Previous cash-handling experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, and walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, and bright lights.
• Ability to work at a fast pace in a crowded or noisy environment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve food, beverages, and desserts to guests at take-out counters in a 24/7 café venue.
• Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, transporting dishes, and sanitizing facilities and equipment.
• Scrub and polish counters, clean tables and other equipment, and clean glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment.
• Prepare bills using MICROS POS, accept payments or make change, and balance receipts and payments in cash drawers.
• Cook food or prepare items such as sandwiches, pizzas, and salads using standard formulas or directions.
• Deliver orders to the kitchen and pick up and serve food when it is ready.
• Provide friendly, quick, and professional service to guests.
• Ensure foods are displayed attractively according to departmental standards.
• Handle food appropriately and maintain food-handling, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Inform the Supervisor when food quantities are low.
