About The Position

As a Dealer Development Officer at Air Academy Credit Union, you’ll spend most of your time in the market building relationships with automotive dealers from Pueblo to Greeley. You’ll learn what matters to each dealership, help them understand where AACU financing fits, and turn consistent follow-through into more opportunities to serve current and future members. This is primarily a business-development role, with approximately 75% of your time focused on building dealer relationships and growing business and 25% focused on reporting, documentation, dealer administration, and operational support. If you like opening doors, building trust over time, and seeing your relationships turn into measurable results, this could be a strong next move.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in indirect lending, automotive finance, dealership relations, business development, outside sales, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prospect for new business, manage a sales territory, develop a pipeline, and work toward production goals.
  • Ability to review activity and performance data, identify trends, and adjust your outreach accordingly.
  • Ability to learn and clearly explain AACU lending programs, policies, systems, and dealer requirements.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while staying connected with internal partners.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends when dealers, industry, or community events require it.

  • Prospect for new dealer relationships and help approved dealers get onboarded, activated, and engaged with AACU’s indirect lending programs.
  • Build an outreach plan for your dealer relationships, including regular visits, calls, follow-ups, reactivation efforts, and relationship reviews.
  • Help dealers understand AACU’s lending programs, requirements, updates, and the ways our financing can make the vehicle-buying process easier for their customers.
  • Work toward production, growth, dealer-development, and portfolio-quality goals while supporting sound lending practices.

  • Track and report on dealer outreach, applications, funded volume, relationship activity, and progress toward goals.
  • Coordinate dealer setup, due diligence, documentation, annual reviews, and other relationship-maintenance activities.
  • Help resolve documentation, funding, service, and operational issues by connecting dealers with the right AACU lending partners.
  • Support loan and portfolio quality by communicating requirements, identifying recurring concerns, and escalating issues when needed.
