About The Position

The DC Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and administering warehouse operations. The role oversees put-to-club, storage, pallet operations, receiving, crossdock, shipping, global sales, and other general warehouse activities to ensure timely merchandise throughput and operational efficiency. The manager maintains appropriate staffing and asset integrity, addresses product issues, monitors safety and loss-prevention practices, evaluates equipment needs and cost effectiveness, and plans for continuous improvement and future business needs. The manager partners with other managers to optimize workforce utilization and productivity, supports accountability through discrepancy investigations and follow-up training, and works with Loss Prevention and Quality Control on research and recovery. The role also develops team members, reinforces performance management, maintains effective communication, and builds relationships with vendors and home-office partners.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
5 to 7 years of experience in a distribution environment.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and administer warehouse operations, including put-to-club, storage, pallet operations, receiving, crossdock, shipping, and other general operations.
Manage daily activities of put-to-club, storage, pallet sortation, and global sales operations.
Ensure timely merchandise throughput and appropriate staffing to achieve asset integrity on outbound shipments.
Address product-related issues that impede operations.
Ensure proper product handling to prevent damage and shrink.
Partner with other managers to optimize workforce utilization, minimize payroll, improve productivity, and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain asset integrity by enforcing procedures and policies, and ensure accountability through timely discrepancy investigations and follow-up training.
Assist Loss Prevention and Quality Control departments with research and recovery efforts.
Monitor safety and loss-prevention practices and ensure policy adherence.
Participate in developing safety programs, raising awareness, and reducing accidents and incidents.
Review equipment needs to enhance productivity and evaluate cost effectiveness.
Cultivate relationships with outside vendors and home-office partners to enhance operational efficiencies.
Reinforce performance management skills with direct reports and encourage team-member development and coaching toward performance goals.
Promote proper communication between management and team members to foster a safe working environment.
Review distribution-philosophy changes to improve operational efficiency, pursue continuous improvement, and plan strategically for future business needs.
