About The Position

ECS is seeking a remote Data Analyst to support the broader data team by gathering business requirements, documenting processes and decisions, and helping clean and standardize data. The role connects business stakeholders with the technical team to ensure requirements are clearly captured and data is accurate and usable. The salary range is $105,000–$110,000.

Requirements

• Strong skills in gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Experience with data cleansing techniques, including deduplication, standardization, and validation.
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL.
• Excellent written communication skills for clear documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Meet with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, pain points, and goals.
• Translate stakeholder conversations into clear, actionable requirements for the data team.
• Create and maintain documentation of requirements, processes, decisions, and data workflows.
• Help identify data quality issues, including duplicates, missing values, and inconsistent formatting, and support cleaning and standardizing datasets.
• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, including Data Scientists, Enterprise Architects, and Engineers.
• Validate cleaned and transformed data against business requirements before it is used in reporting or architecture work.
• Identify recurring data issues or documentation gaps and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with building simple reports or summaries to help stakeholders and leadership track data quality and project progress.
