About The Position

The Au Bon Pain Customer Service Specialist performs food preparation, cashiering, customer service, GET order processing, stocking, and cleaning. The role requires following all Au Bon Pain and food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

The position is 35 hours per week. The swing shift is based on operational needs, with a primary shift of 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, and rotating Sundays. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the University does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to effectively write and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours.
• Ability to lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and use finger dexterity for periods of up to four hours at a time.
• Ability to stand for up to four hours at a time.
• Ability to visibly differentiate colors for food safety purposes.
• Ability to work when exposed to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise.
• Ability to work independently with an appropriate amount of supervision.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a food preparation position.
• Experience in a high-volume à la carte operation and proven customer service skills.
• Successful cash register experience.
• Experience with MICROS registers.
• Working knowledge of standard commercial kitchen equipment.
• Current managerial ServSafe certification.
• Professional demeanor.
• Experience working with students and a diverse multicultural staff.
• Successful experience assisting customers.
