As a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative, you help patients check into a hospital by collecting and entering patient and insurance information accurately and promptly. You answer questions, ask follow-up questions, and listen with compassion to patients’ fears and concerns while building rapport and easing anxiety. The work is fast-paced and involves computers, multiple screens and programs, and answering phones. You may be interrupted by clinicians providing emergent care, and you should be prepared to work on your feet assisting patients. The role is in a hospital or lab environment where you may see illness and injuries. Healthcare experience is not required; training is provided. The position is described as a starting point for a healthcare career at R1.
