About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Customer Service Representative at Barkefellers - Northeast. The role welcomes pet parents and their pets, supports customer service and facility operations, and helps create a positive experience for clients and guests. The representative works with clients in person, by phone, and through other communications; introduces new clients to the facility and services; and handles pet check-in and check-out, records, payments, and customer concerns. The role also includes escorting pets, maintaining a clean and welcoming lobby, and assisting teammates as needed. The position reports to the General Manager. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. Employees can access earned wages through DailyPay.

Requirements

• Strong people and customer-service orientation, as well as comfort around pets.
• Solid communication skills in person, by phone, and by email.
• Ability to use multi-line phones and computer systems.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure and solve problems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability for at least four shifts per week, including Saturday or Sunday.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• At least one year of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome pet parents and their pets.
• Answer phones and multitask while assisting customers.
• Tour prospective clients through the facility and sell services.
• Ensure current vaccination records are on file.
• Manage pet check-ins and check-outs.
• Handle cash and card payments and balance the end-of-day cash drawer.
• Respond to complaints patiently and professionally.
• Escort pets to and from their enclosures.
• Keep the lobby clean and welcoming.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
