About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Customer Service Representative at Greymont Kennel to provide a welcoming, professional experience for pet parents and their pets. The role supports the facility’s customer service and daily operations, including greeting clients, coordinating visits, promoting services, maintaining vaccination records, and caring for pets as they move through the facility. The position also involves handling payments, keeping the lobby presentable, responding to client concerns, and assisting coworkers as needed.

The schedule is Sunday through Saturday, with hours ranging from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend availability is required, as is availability on evenings and holidays. The role involves frequent standing and walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication skills across phone, in-person, and email interactions.
• Ability to use multi-line phone systems and computer systems.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure and solve problems.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently, climb stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays; weekends are required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• At least one year of customer service experience is preferred.
• Enjoyment of working with people and pets.

Responsibilities

• Welcome pet parents and their pets.
• Answer phones while multitasking and communicating with customers.
• Tour new clients through the facility and sell available services.
• Ensure current vaccination records are on file.
• Manage client check-ins and check-outs.
• Handle cash and card payments and balance the end-of-day cash drawer.
• Respond to complaints patiently and professionally.
• Escort pet guests to and from their enclosures.
• Keep the lobby clean and welcoming.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
