About The Position

The GATE Express Wash Associate makes customer service the first priority by providing guests with a safe, friendly experience. The associate answers guest questions promptly and accurately, aims to exceed customer expectations, and processes vehicles efficiently by following the correct car-wash procedures. The role also helps maintain a clean, organized facility and learns the functions of the car wash, including equipment operation, minor maintenance, and detailing. This is a high-energy, fast-paced customer-facing role. Associates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts, and work both indoors and outdoors in changing temperatures and weather. They attend required training and meetings, follow safety procedures, handle chemicals safely, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English sufficiently to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
Must be able to operate a computer.
Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach, including overhead.
Must have adequate strength, balance, and coordination to perform essential functions.
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors and endure changes in outdoor temperature and weather.

Responsibilities

Arrive on time and in a clean, proper uniform; wear safety goggles and non-slip shoes when necessary.
Attend required training, safety courses, and office and departmental meetings.
Report safety hazards, follow up to ensure they are corrected, and help maintain a safe work environment.
Safely handle chemicals and become proficient with appropriate equipment and safety features.
Provide prompt, friendly customer service and respond to guest questions and requests.
Process vehicles efficiently and safely by following established procedures for each vehicle.
Guide guests with clear hand signals, review loading directions, and indicate when vehicles are ready for the wash process.
Check each vehicle before it enters the wash tunnel for visible safety issues.
Operate Express Wash kiosks, credit card machines, and point-of-sale equipment.
Maintain facility cleanliness and organization, including cleaning restrooms, floors, windows, and storage rooms; stocking supplies; emptying trash; changing light bulbs; replenishing towels; and changing register paper and ink cartridges.
Perform vehicle detailing services as trained and directed.
Learn and perform minor repairs and maintenance on car-wash equipment when necessary.
Maintain a positive and supportive team environment.
