About The Position
The Customer Service Associate delivers a distinctive customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, resolving issues, and providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service. The role registers sales, handles cash and transactions, recommends products, and supports store operations, merchandising, inventory, asset protection, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The associate also supports photo services, including digital passport photos and printing, and handles web pick-up orders. They help maintain clean and orderly store conditions, complete assigned tasks and training, and work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, except in Puerto Rico.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and patients, offer assistance with products and services, resolve customer issues, and answer questions.
- Demonstrate customer-service best practices and Walgreens service traits, including proactively offering help and assisting customers until their needs are met.
- Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommend products, trade-up items, and companion items.
- Operate the assigned cash register; collect cash and provide change; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
- Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; take inventory and maintain records.
- Check in and price merchandise as required or directed by the store manager or shift leader.
- Follow asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws governing regulated products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
- Construct and maintain promotional, seasonal, super-structure, and sale displays; complete resets and revisions as directed.
- Separate food items and place products according to applicable policies and procedures.
- Assist with stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method and restock out-of-stock items.
- Maintain working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provide photo-area customer service, including digital passport photos, poster printing, use of the creative machine, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
- Monitor and fill web pick-up orders in Picture Care Plus and deliver orders to customers when they arrive at the store.
- Help maintain clean, neat, and orderly interior and exterior store conditions.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the manager or assigned by corporate.
