About The Position

The Customer Relations Associate performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and directions. The position supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by assisting customers with buying decisions, processing merchandise returns, maintaining product knowledge, and promoting store programs. It also includes securing firearms brought into the store, checking in vendor representatives, selling applicable hunting and fishing licenses, and keeping the work area clean and stocked. The role works under general supervision and follows established procedures while using occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift, communicate continuously, and perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to occasionally climb ladders, stairs, or ramps and work in low or high temperatures and noisy environments.
Ability to constantly lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects weighing 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

Secure all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
Support a strong commitment to customer service and provide a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
Greet customers promptly in a friendly and outgoing manner.
Handle merchandise returns and complete refund or exchange paperwork.
Sort returned merchandise by category and return it to the proper area.
Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
Handle and administer incentive and reward programs.
Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Perform other duties as assigned.
