About The Position

The Customer Experience Specialist provides outstanding customer service at Nordstrom Local Newport Beach. The role involves engaging customers, helping them identify and access services such as Online Order Pickup, Alterations, Styling, Returns, and Gift Wrapping, and communicating with customers by phone and email. The specialist also supports merchandise processing, inventory and back-of-house organization, and in-store events. Some shifts include opening and closing the building and following security procedures. Light cleaning duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

• Ability to identify customer-benefiting opportunities, develop solutions that meet customer expectations, and resolve issues.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new initiatives, concepts, and services.
• Proven success working in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask.
• Basic understanding of technology tools and computer applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Booking Bug, and Excel.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift; frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, reaching, and hand use; and lifting and carrying items of varying weights.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers through storytelling and engagement with diverse audiences.
• Understand customers’ needs and connect them with services such as Online Order Pickup, Alterations, Styling, Returns, and Gift Wrapping.
• Communicate professionally with customers by phone and email, including sharing feedback on trends, fit, and style.
• Support back-of-house processes, including inventory management and maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Support event execution, including managing RSVPs, tracking customer contact information, and greeting guests.
• Open and close the building on some shifts, following proper security procedures.
• Perform light cleaning, including sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, dishwashing, and restroom maintenance.
