About The Position

Bluesight is hiring a Customer Data Engineer for its Sales organization to support customer growth and product expansion. The role owns data integration with customers, helping healthcare organizations realize value from Bluesight’s platform quickly and seamlessly. The engineer works directly with hospital customers to understand their data environments, explain platform requirements, and lead the technical work required to bring them onto the platform. The role also contributes to internal tools and product work that improve implementation speed and time-to-value. Approximately half of the role is spent in customer conversations, documentation, and system configuration. As a customer advocate, the engineer connects technical solutions to outcomes for customers and Bluesight. The position is open to applicants in the continental United States. The advertised base salary range is $80,000–$95,000 per year, with eligibility for incentive commission based on results. The actual wage offered depends on experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

  • Experience with cloud data infrastructure.
  • Track record of building internal tools, using AI-assisted development tooling, or automating manual work to improve efficiency.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and varied customer data environments without always having an established playbook.
  • Proactive and self-directed approach, with the ability to identify and complete work without close supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA compliance and secure data transfer protocols, including SFTP and API security, for handling PHI.

  • Advise healthcare clients on integration requirements, data formatting, and security protocols in a clear, consultative manner.
  • Translate client data models into integration blueprints and hand off data assets, mapping documentation, and integration requirements to Implementation teams for go-live.
  • Contribute to internal documentation, playbooks, and tooling to improve the efficiency and consistency of implementations.
  • Develop and refine standardized data collection templates, scripts, and pre-sales documentation to accelerate onboarding.
  • Partner with Bluesight’s data engineering team to productize implementation and transformation logic.
  • Ensure data scoping and collection adhere to HIPAA regulations, SOC2 standards, and best practices for handling Protected Health Information (PHI).
