About The Position
Under general supervision, to perform routine custodial tasks in the care and cleaning of a school building and grounds; to do other related work as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform routine custodial tasks.
- Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to report safety, sanitary, and mechanical concerns.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous custodial experience.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wax and polish floors, and vacuum rugs and other floor surfaces.
- Clean and dust furniture, walls, chalkboards, windows, woodwork, and other surfaces.
- Empty waste receptacles and remove trash and rubbish.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and refill sanitary supplies.
- Wash and clean windows, doors, walls, and ceilings.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Operate and maintain custodial equipment.
- Report safety, sanitary, and mechanical concerns to supervisor.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
