About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Custodian will maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. This includes tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, emptying trash receptacles, and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform all duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a school environment.
Knowledge of floor care techniques (e.g., waxing, buffing).

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.
Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Assist with minor maintenance and repair tasks as directed.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
