About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine custodial duties in an assigned area of a school building. This includes cleaning and maintaining assigned areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves a variety of tasks to keep the school premises in good condition.

Requirements

• High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.)
• A valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial duties in assigned areas of a school building.
• Clean and maintain assigned areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment.
• Tasks include cleaning floors, walls, windows, restrooms, and other surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as needed.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Assist with event setup and cleanup as needed.
