About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students and staff. The Custodian will maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. This role involves routine cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and minor repairs as needed. The Custodian plays a vital role in supporting the overall operations of the school.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including bending, stooping, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, doors, and walls.
Maintain the cleanliness of assigned classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Perform floor care duties, including waxing and buffing.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of school facilities.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Respond to emergency cleaning needs as required.
